Student Services

Redcliff has a 100% School Counsellor. It is the role of the counsellor to act as an advocate for all students and to develop, coordinate and implement a school Counselling Program that assists all students (directly and indirectly) with personal and social growth, as well as educational and career development.

The School Counsellor can offer support in the following ways:

  • Counselling Curriculum - The School Counsellor works with classroom teachers to integrate the Guidance Program with curriculum outcomes (ex. health, social studies, physical education, etc.)
  • Professional Services - The School Counsellor supports immediate situations and concerns of students requiring counselling, consultation, referral or information. The Counsellor offers both individual and small group counselling and participates in case conferences and individual interviews with teachers, families and other agencies.
  • Life and Career Planning - The Guidance Counsellor will assist students to plan, monitor and manage their learning, this may take the form of increasing confidence and developing tools and strategies to assist with learning, both within and outside of the classroom setting.
  • Program Management and System Support - The School Counsellor oversees the implementation of the Counselling Program, provides related professional development, establishes relationships with stakeholders and establishes effective public relations and program promotion.

Students seeking an appointment are to go directly to the School Counsellor’s Office to schedule an appointment. Also, appointment slips can be found in each classroom and can be brought to the School Counsellor’s Office to schedule an appointment.
